It may sound romantic, but in search of that elusive metaphor, poets can be somewhat  “eccentric.”

  1. If you date a poet everyone will think you are the jerk they are writing about.
  2. You will be the jerk they are writing about.
  3. They have an unnatural affection for book stores and office supply stores.
  4. They have deep conversations with Animals, Clouds, and Grecian Urns.
  5. Excessive use of  “poetry hands.”
  6. Excessive abuse of  “poetic licence.”
  7. Excessive use of  “melancholy.”
  8. Excessive use of  “dramatic emphasis.”
  9. They collect obscure words that have not been in circulation for at least 100 years or more.
  10. They insert these antediluvian words into conversations just to rebel.
  11. They think children’s books are sublime.
  12. They refuse to care where the remote is.
  13. All of their furniture are positioned around windows, for them to stare out for hours at a time.
  14. Your parents will think they are possessed.

My Lucky Strike.

Six months. That’s a pretty long time to keep in pace with the changing perspectives of the phase between a teenage-adult transition. Actually, it’s not the in between phase, it’s the transition itself as the phase. Turning 18 soon, should I be excited? Well, I’m not sure. There’s a paradise out there. My soul is just the small dot in the center of a star. To be sure of that is in itself an indication of a dilemma in the vicinity, because a small circle in the prime of it’s surroundings never knows the direction in which to expand, and that whether it would end as a star or some other shape when it blossoms. *star

For one thing, writing is a form of art. What is art? It’s a form of expression, a medium to communicate to the audience the artist exactly needs. Primary basis, invention comes out of necessity. Necessity is realized through experiences. The last time I blogged, I said the true virtue of nature is the principle of altruism. Well, now I vouch against that. It was just my entry into the natural sphere, from the wrong side. You get to find your path from there. That was a beginning which I falsely concluded as the end.

Altruism in the true sense is probably never achieved. It’s almost inevitable that a give-and-take situation is the closest to being there. Just the take escapes our attention. And sometimes, we knowingly let it go. Fall into the traps of selflessness, give everything you ever got and return with nothing but an empty soul. All the while you’ll know you were working for a reward, a take without accepting that it was needed. Accept it, and you’re being true to yourself. Somewhere deep down the roots lies the virtue of selfishness. Even nature provides resources enough only for man’s need, not for greed. Because survival of others is all it needs to survive itself.

Motivation is just an abstract being. You’ll try to be motivated, you’ll think you are motivated, you’ll feel you are motivated, and you’ll want to go the whole distance that motivation can lead you to. Only, when you reach there you’ll feel empty. Motivation died on it’s way, it was just a whim to a desire you felt necessary at that moment. Then from that brief moment of silence arises anger. Anger that can suck in your whole world. If you’re on the path that intuition guides you, it’s going to be ruthless. Don’t suppress it, let it be the Armageddon against the walls you built for yourself. Unfailingly, it’s an energy that destabilizes your complete being and puts you in a state of trauma. This trauma could be anything depending on how the anger originated, but luckily in my case, it has turned into a positive energy. It’s either self-realisation or self-destruction. Destruction is self-explanatory. Realisation is when you find an inspiration at the end of it. A source of energy that would knowingly or unknowingly provide you peace and never cease to be a backbone for you. You’ll find it when you’d least expect it. Within the vast expanse of earth, in the relishing wonders of nature, in the moments you’d cherish and in people you thought were far away from you. I found mine through wilderness. The more you look at it’s beauty, the more it gets intricated within you. And you know you’re genuinely inspired when you are. It manifests itself through your being, creates an aura that people can trust without being imposed on. It reveals itself in everything you do, as I can count on all my past achievements so far in only being truthful to myself. As for motivation, I don’t need it anymore, it’s not necessary in the long term.

Ps. The author has a best friend whom he trusts upon because she’s an idiot full of happiness. The key to his inspiration? Elementary, my dear. 🙂

The Laburnum Realization

Nature, is an endless possibility of spiritual energies. An altruistic existence of the ultimate state of our souls, it is the shell that encloses beneath it the reality of life – Silence. Nothingness. Peace.

The sweet smell of nature.

In a conscious state of mind, I’d decided to give up technology for a few months. Cutoff from the world, I ended up discovering the incentives of a rather pristine life. The midnight zephyrs, the tweeting birds, the mellifluous sounds of nature, the glowing trees beneath the moonlight, the briskly wavering bristled leaves under the dusky breeze, and certain other observations in my own maudlin experiences. I’ve been wanting to get back to blogging ever since my exams ended, but I wasn’t able to collect my thoughts together until today. Thanks to a certain discussion with my friends. With this, I’ll be returning to posting, unless I hit a writer’s block. 😐

I’ll share certain philosophical implications I’ve come to realise as a result, cause my mind is high on that now. This cool and breezy night sets up my mood.

The Bhagavad Gita, one of the most splendid literary works ever. There has hardly been any book that remains as relevant decades after it’s initial publication. It’s one singular force that shatters all your false perceptions of life, and registers the true purpose of the generations. One of the most important lessons to be learnt is that, the sense of being liberated is something every soul accounts for. And to attain that, there is a certain amount of work you have to fulfill in every birth, manifested for the soul in the form of karma. That is each person’s prescribed duty, and he holds the right to perform it. In one of the most fundamental teachings ever, Lord Krishna imparts to his disciple that “change is the law of nature“, and this rightfully is the essence of the gita.

The second of my experiences happens to be an odd one. An extrapolation of Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle. Being an enthusiast of theoretical physics, I stumbled onto this through Sir Richard Feynman. Precisely, it states that, an observation affects the phenomenon. Now when I connect the dots, it seems absolutely valid that when we look at a certain phenomenon, we end up disturbing it in some way, which actually is necessary for having some sort of a consistency in nature. It somehow justifies all the mystic unexplainable happenings that surround us with different frequencies in our lives. Say, for example that your intuition led you to a certain predicament the other day and you dismissed it as rubbish as you were in a dreamy state. But it kept wandering in your thoughts. A few days later, and you realise it wasn’t false. I bet these sort of things keep happening, as unless there has been some sort of an experience, there cannot exist any theory trying to reason it. This uncertainty principle is just one amongst many. But personally, I find this particular one as a timeless treasure because it opens up answers to certain aspects of my life.

It’s amazing how sometimes even the most intricately complex and puzzling thoughts have so simple an answer that you want to kick yourself once you solve it. And now before I doze off to sleep, I have one last thought to share.

Exploring the grounds of a spiritual path, I’ve read quite about cosmic energies sustaining the energy bodies of this earth. I’m still quite a novice to talk about this, and anyway this field isn’t what my last thought is. It is that of a dancer. This is one thing I’ve been wanting to answer The Killers ever since it struck me. They have a perpetual question.

Are we humans or are we dancers?

Now if you look for the solution, there might be another question in some minds, Aren’t dancers also humans? Quite satisfactorily, no. And yes, by now some of you might have figured out what I’m going to reveal. Those guys had framed the answer within the question. A smart move. Not all homosapiens are merely humans. Some of them have transcended the realms of physical existence. These people are the Legends. Them we call as Cosmic Dancers.

Ps. Even as the writer puts up this article, he feels something is incomplete. And that it shall probably remain so for a longer while….

What do you call a book that’s praised by all and read by none? A Classic. And Pride and Prejudice belongs to this category of books. A really commendable work by Jane Austen on that. The book is enjoyable to read as such, complete with wit and romance. Add to that Austen’s style of narration through free indirect speech, and an excellent sketch of characters, she just pulls it off as a whole. Though, i felt the book could have been a bit more pacier, there’s enough substance to read, but what happens is that it becomes so predictable in between and i’d to push myself through it. It’s classic literature at the end of the day. And it’s fascinating. But for most of the modern-age punk-rockers and upcoming rappersyo peoplezz, i don’t think this one’s for you. Albeit, i shall recommend to you the 2005 movie of the same name. It’s very lively, cheerful, precise and proves why the novel itself a classic. And to ice it, i’m not sure if any other than Keira Knightley could have pulled off Elizabeth’s role so well. She’s beautiful. 😀

To summarise the plot of this vintage classic, it deals with the family of the five Bennet sisters living in Longbourne near Netherfield, and whose prosaic mother wants to get them married off advantageously as soon as possible. There are a handful of characters etched in the story, but the crux of the plot mainly centers around the eldest two daughters, Jane and Elizabeth. Jane is accepted by all as being the most beautiful woman in the Bennet family, and the plot progresses with her falling in love with a wealthy bachelor Mr.Bingley, who is also considered as the most favourable by everyone. The love is equally reciprocated, but Mr.Bingley abruptly leaves to London soon. Eliza and Jane are convinced that the bingley sisters and Mr.Darcy are conspiring against the marriage, owing to the bennet family being poor, and a embarrassing public display of manners and decorum by the rest of the bennets at the ball.

Meanwhile, Mr.Darcy is introduced at the beginning as Mr.Bingley’s close friend, who is handsome, intelligent and wealthy, but is not convival and is less favorable as he makes an impression of having excessive pride and is condescending. Then there’s is Elizabeth. Quick-witted, lively, and analytical, she forms a prejudice against Mr.Darcy upon overhearing a conversation in which she is slighted by him. In a turn of events, he falls to the girl’s eyes. And eventually, he confessess as being bewitched by her. She refuses, charging him with pride and of taking away her sister’s happiness which is revealed to her by Darcy’s cousin, who turns out to be a liar and a philander. The story then continues with how Mr.Darcy pursues for Lizzy and wins her over in the end. The plot unfolds mostly through conversations, elaborating the sharp critiques of the societies in the nineteenth century and through the views of Elizabeth, with a sharp eye to catch the rivulets of emotions running through the daily life. The relationship between Mr.Darcy and Eliza is gripping at it’s very best. Overall, i’d say the book was a good read. 🙂

Shahrukh Khan

I don’t even know why i’m posting this, cause he’s not my most favorite actor anyway. And i most certainly don’t consider him to be the king of khans. You can never decide amongst those three. Say quality, and aamir wins. Action, Mindless comedy, Salman bags it. Romance, Charm, Antagonist, Shahrukh beats ’em all. It isn’t like i hate him or something, i infact to do like him. He’s definitely awesome. He’s kind of natural on-screen, and he’s charming. And boy, he got the looks. 😛
Kuch kuch hota hai, Kabhi haan kabhi naa, and most certainly Kal ho naa ho swear by to remain on my all-time favorites list. And i can’t count how many i’ve watched these. But to talk of his latest movies, i’m disappointed. The last good movie i saw, was probably Om Shanti Om. And that was like, 2007? Almost 4 years now. I just hope he’s back on target with Don2. I’m actually excited to watch it, and considering farhan akhtar to be on board, i don’t expect the script to fail. 😀

And oh, the undying ‘K‘ factor. I actually have a theory behind that. It’s my love for Kryptonite. The green fictional element that is known to curb Superman’s strength. And to relate with this, the superman of bollywood was probably Amitabh Bachchan. (He still prevails, albeit srk rose to be compared with him, consider it a victory)

I believe that’s it for today. Just some random ramblin’ on my blog cause i’m tired with this busy schedule of mine (although i don’t follow any). Argh, studies. -.-

Goodbye, Steve.

It’s morning 09.30am. Your mom’s shouting at the top of her voice to wake you up. You aren’t sleepy anymore. You know you’re awake since the past one hour, but you’re just reluctant to get up, cause you’re mind is racing for the strategies about something very important. And your phone is under your pillow. *buzz* And you receive a new message. You read it,

Dude. Steve Jobs. 😥

Well, this was my situation today. And the moment I read it, i sprang out of my luxury. I ran, switched on my pc, only to find out that my modem wouldn’t work. Damn you BSNL. It took me an hour to rectify the problem.

Then, Click, Boom. Amazing! Steve Jobs had passed away at 56. And it was true this time. 😥

How ironic for me, he had to die the very next day after my previous post. And i think i knew this was happening.

I don’t know why, but i somehow have had this feeling that he did know that death was going to catch him this time. Probably why, that explains his timely resignation and all the events he’d been secretly watching and executing from behind. He’s now survived by his wife and four children, and another carefully carved kid, known to us as Apple Inc. .

He’s given his life into everything he’d created. He’d exceptionalised in exceptionalising every single product that ever came from Apple. The aesthetics that he demanded of his machines were never that of a frippery corporate identity. They were of Steve Jobs. Purely Steve Jobs. Something that remains impossible to duplicate.

I’d like to thank you sir, for everything. For building me up as who I wanted to be, for always inspiring me, for being my role model, and for the insanity i’ve extracted from life. Even though you may never reply to this, like you always did to every e-mail you received, this note is for you. A very big THANK YOU, from each and every cell that’s in me! :’)

Here’s a tribute to him, To The Crazy Ones::

 

Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure — these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

Hope you continue innovating and pursuing your dreams, and change the way the heaven is, as well! Wishing your soul peace, iSalute! :’)
